Various options for Tech Vegetarians

Being a vegetarian at Tech is a huge problem. There are various vegetarian options available for Tech students that can be considered.

Dining Halls have a wide variety of options ranging from continental breakfast and breakfast pancakes to Pizzas, Rice & Beans, Baked Potatoes & Sweet Potatoes, French Fries, Salad, Soup, and Pasta to rotating Mexican, Subs, Bagel Pizzas, Wraps, and Nachos with fruits and drinks all the time.

But the varieties in numbers do not do any good. How often these items are good or in some case, like that of Food court, inexpensive? Dining Halls can be good enough to consider had it not being small things, like having Refried Beans as a substitute for grounded Beef or so, in case of Mexican dishes.

There are other options to meal plan. First option is to prepare one’s own food, but it is highly impractical idea for the students. Second will be alternate meal plan like those at Culture 2 Go and CampusFood.com. In fact, at Culture 2 Go, each meal cost just $5.00 and it seems to be enough in quantity. What about the quality? They have a wide range of variety including Indian Dishes.

Food Court too has such wide variety of options too and can be a good choice, but only it will be better than Dining Halls is regarding the taste. Also, it is expensive and it close too early to take a dinner.

It is more frustrating for vegetarians at Tech when after paying a huge amount towards meal, through some silly mistakes whatever is available is made unavailable. And it is even more frustrating when these mistakes are repeated after several comments or suggestions or complains.

It will be really tough to say what’s best for vegetarians, because there are many out there who can survive on steamed vegetables and baked potatoes that are tasteless.
